Our story

Việt Garden opened on Liverpool Road in 2002 and has been run by the same family ever since. No group behind it, no second branch — one kitchen, one dining room, and a menu that has grown slowly because every dish had to earn its place.

What we cook is home food rather than restaurant food: the clear, long-simmered broths of Hà Nội, the chilli and lemongrass heat of Huế, the herbs and fresh rice paper of the Mekong Delta, and the grilled, peanut-strewn plates you would eat on a Sài Gòn street.

Nearly everything comes together to order — the stocks each morning, the sauces by hand, the herbs cut when the plate goes out. It is why some dishes take a few minutes longer than you might expect, and why we would rather they did.
